Mueang Chan District

Amphoe Mueang Chan ( in Thai อำเภอ เมือง จันทร์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Si Saket. The Si Saket province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Mueang Chan borders the following districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pho Si Suwan to, and Huai Thap Than Uthumphon Phisai in the province of Si Saket, and Amphoe Samrong Thap to the, Non Narai and Rattanaburi the province of Surin.

History

Mueang Chan was on 1 April 1992 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by three tambon were separated from Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai. On October 11, 1997, he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Chan is in three communities ( tambon) divided, in turn, in 52 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
