Prang Ku District

Amphoe Prang Ku ( in Thai อำเภอ ปรางค์กู่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Si Saket. The Si Saket province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Prang Ku borders the following districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Huai Thap Than the, Uthumphon Phisai, Wang Hin and Khukhan in the province of Sisaket, as well as to the Amphoe Si Narong, Samrong Thap Sikhoraphum and the province of Surin.

History

Prang Ku was born on January 1, 1961 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by being separated from Amphoe Khukhan. The name of the district derives from the Prang Samong ( Thai: ปรางค์ สาม องค์ ) located in Ban Ku. On July 17, 1963, he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Prang Ku is divided into ten municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 141 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Prang Ku ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปรางค์กู่ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Phimai Phimai and Nuea.

In addition, there are ten " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
