History

Münster is considered the founding Irish-Scottish monks. It later belonged to Rentamt Munich and the court of the Electorate of Bavaria Rain. Until the secularization of 1803, the Cistercian Monastery Niederschönenfeld was the most important landowner in the village. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the independent municipality of Münster. Until July 1, 1972, Münster was the district of Neuburg on the Danube and was then added to the district of Donau -Ries in the course of municipal reform in Bavaria.
