History
Münster is considered the founding Irish-Scottish monks. It later belonged to Rentamt Munich and the court of the Electorate of Bavaria Rain. Until the secularization of 1803, the Cistercian Monastery Niederschönenfeld was the most important landowner in the village. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the independent municipality of Münster. Until July 1, 1972, Münster was the district of Neuburg on the Danube and was then added to the district of Donau -Ries in the course of municipal reform in Bavaria.

The municipality of Munster came into effect on 1 May 1978 from the districts Altenbach and King Brunn to the south adjacent Thierhaupten (Landkreis Augsburg).
Population Development
Policy
First mayor was 1978-1994 Konrad Dumberger and 1994-2008 Alois Stuber. In the last local elections on 1 May 2008, elected first mayor Gerhard Pfitzmaier (without competitor ).
The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 325,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 9,000.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 14 in the area of trade and transport any social insurance contributions at the workplace.
