Nancy Boyda

Nancy Boyda ( born August 2, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2009, she represented the second electoral district of the state of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Nancy Boyda studied at William Jewell College in Liberty (Missouri ) Chemistry and pedagogy. After that she worked as a teacher and then from 1978 as an analytical chemist. She grew up in a Republican family and was in their youth also a member of that party. In 2003, she then joined the Democratic Party because you Republicans appeared to be too conservative.

In 2004, she ran for the first time in the second district of Kansas for the U.S. House of Representatives. She defeated Republican incumbent Jim Ryun with 41% to 56 % of the vote. Two years later they met again against Ryun. This time she was able to win the elections with 51% to 47% of the vote.

Boyda entered her new mandate in Congress on 3 January 2007. There she was a member of the Armed Services Committee and the Agriculture Committee, and for some sub committees. You stood up for research into renewable energy and was for a gradual withdrawal of troops from Iraq. A quick retreat but she leaned from; in Congress, they voted against a corresponding template.

In the congressional elections of 2008, Boyda lost to Lynn Jenkins. This enabled it to remain only a term in Congress until January 3, 2009. Since July 2009 she has been Head of Department in the Ministry of Defence. There she is responsible as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manpower and Personnel for staff management. Nancy Boyda is married to Steve Boyda and private lives in Topeka.
