James Edmund Jeffries

James Edmund Jeffries ( born June 1, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan; † August 22, 1997 in Tucson, Arizona ) was an American politician of the Republican Party.

After attending the public schools Jeffries made ​​in 1943 graduated from the Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills. Thereafter, he served from 1943 to 1945 in the United States Army Air Corps. From 1947 he studied at Michigan State University in Lansing. After studying Jeffries worked from 1956 to 1979 as an investment advisor.

In 1978, he participated as a delegate to the Kansas State Republican Convention and was a candidate for a seat in Congress, in which he was eventually selected. Jeffries now represented from 3 January 1979 to 3 January 1983 the second electoral district of the state of Kansas in the House of Representatives of the United States. In the 1982 congressional elections, he did not stand for re-election. Jeffries spent his life in Atchison (Kansas).
