Nitzavim
Nitzavim (also: Nizzawim; Hebrew ניצבים, " You are standing " to complete, " today before God ") is a reading section ( Parasha or Sidra ) of the Torah, and includes the text of Deuteronomy / Devarim 29.9 to 30.20.
It is the Sidra of the 4th Sabbath in the month of Elul (even if connected to Wajelech ).
Gist
- Moses concludes with Israel and its future generations the federal government that it should belong to God and God will help him
- Promulgation of mischief, if the federal government is injured and falls prey to the people to idolatry
- Threat of expulsion, parallel to Sodom and Gomorrah
- Promise of the ingathering of the exiles and the return to the land of the fathers after contrite repentance
- The presented bids are obvious ( " not in heaven ", " beyond the sea " ) to comply and easily, in their observance lay life and happiness; Failure to follow going into the pit
