This is structured according to the knockout system. The eight participants will be divided into four duels. The winners progress to the second round, in the emerge of two duels, the final two qualifiers.

In the final, the four most popular contributions are determined by the viewers at first, the move into the Super Final. The vote in the Super Final - unlike in the preliminary rounds - divided. Euro Vision Song Contest

Since Norway was not part of the Big Five (those countries with the highest financial contribution to the competition, ie Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom ) nor the host of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2011, it had to qualify first by one of the semi-final. Stella Mwangi thus occurred on the start position 02 in the first semifinal. She was assisted by two female and three background singers.

In the competition Mwangi Haba Haba reached in the first semi-final only the 17th place with 30 points, so different from pretty much. This is due to the national juries, the result of which flows to 50 % to the overall result of a country. Here they also reached number 17, while she would have qualified with the ninth place among the spectators. Before the contest, Mwangi was considered one of the favorites for the overall win, so the from was quite surprising in the semifinals. Haba Haba was the first contribution to the Euro Vision Song Contest, which contains text in Swahili.
