Norwegian Football Cup

The Norwegian Football Cup ( Norwegian called Norgesmesterskap i fotball for herrer; short: NM Cup) is the national cup competition for club teams of men in Norwegian football. First held in 1902, he is the oldest football competition in the country. He is also known colloquially under the name Cupen. The host is the Norwegian Football Association Norges Fotballforbund (NFF ). Since 1948, the final will be held in Oslo exclusively at Ullevaal Stadium. Between 1941 and 1944, the cup fell out because of the Second World War. Only since 1963 may Teams from northern Norway to participate due to the poor communication system between northern and southern Norway. It was also believed that the teams from the North did not have the playful level to be able to keep up with the teams from the South.

The record holder of the trophy is Odd Grenland with twelve victories. Current title holder is the second division IL Hødd.
