Novodnistrovsk

Nowodnistrowsk ( Новодністровськ; Russian: Новоднестровск / Nowodnestrowsk ) is a city in the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast. It is located about 116 km north-east of Chernivtsi on the right bank of the Dniester, the Rajonshauptstadt Sokyrjany is located south of the city.

The town was founded on April 3, 1973 decision by the Department of Energy of the USSR in the course of construction of the hydroelectric power plant on Dniester Reservoir, was raised in 1975 to an urban-type settlement, received in 1982 the municipal law, since 1991 a part of the Ukraine. In 1993 she was awarded the status of a city under Rajonsverwaltung ( in Rajon Sokyrjany ) since July 13, 2000, she is a city under Oblastverwaltung.
