Oberöfflingen
Oberöfflingen is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.
Geography
The village lies on the edge of the Lieser Valley in the Eifel. To the north is Laufeld, in the southeast and southwest Niederöfflingen is Schladt.
To Oberöfflingen the northern part is the hamlet hamlet Brühl. The southern part of the hamlet belongs to the local church Schladt.
History
The place was first mentioned in records in 785 as Uffeningen. Beginning in 1794, Oberöfflingen under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

The local council in Oberöfflingen consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: " From Red divided over silver, above a silver Glevenkreuz, down three oblique red bar" '. It was approved in 1982 by the district government Trier.
Culture and sights
- The Church of St. Mauritius dates back to 1854.
- One can still see the ruins of the castle worthies.
