Obrataň

Obrataň ( German Wobratein ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 km east of Tábor and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Obrataň is located in the valley of the creek Kejtovský in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. Through the village leads the state road 19 from Tábor Pelhřimov and the railway connection between these cities. Obrataň is the terminus of the narrow gauge railway in Jindřichův Hradec - Obrataň.

Neighboring towns are Cetoraz in the north, Šimpach and there in the northeast, Dvořiště and Kámen in the east, Věžná and Brná the southeast, Střítež in the south, Sudkův Dul and Bezděčín the southwest, porin, Radostovice and Lejčkov in the west and Prasetín and Hrobská Zahrádka in the northwest.

History

The village was first mentioned took place in 1365. 1384 the founding of the Church Nativity of the Virgin, by the Archbishop received while a silver-gilt chalice with applied Bohemian garnets.

1906, the narrow-gauge railway was opened to Jindřichův Hradec.
