Park Tae- hwan (2010)

Park Tae- hwan ( born September 27, 1989) is a South Korean swimmer and current world champion over 400 m freestyle ( 2011).

He won at the Asian Games 2006 in Doha three gold medals, one silver and three times the bronze medal. He won over the 200 m, 400 m and 1500 m freestyle. In the same year he was elected to the Pacific Swimmer of the Year.

With the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne in 2007 he became world champion in the 400m freestyle, making it the first Korean who has ever been swimming world champion. The following year he was. At the Summer Olympic Games in 2008 over the same distance Olympic champion Park, making it Korea's first Olympic gold medalist in swimming. At the 2011 World Swimming Championships, he won also on the 400 -m freestyle distance.
