Pazzano
Pazzano is a village with 606 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Reggio Calabria and is therefore in the region of Calabria in southern Italy. It is part of Vallata dello Stilaro.
The neighboring municipalities are Bivongi, Caulonia, Nardodipace, Placanica, Stignano and Stilo.
History
The origin of the town is linked to the reduction of iron-bearing minerals ( limonite and pyrite ). Already at the Norman period was here a mining camp, as a document from the year 1094 witnessed. At the time of the Bourbon kingdom finally Pazzano is one of the most important mining areas and supplies the entire south of Italy.
Economy
Nowadays, the dominant industry is agriculture, especially the cultivation of olives and wine, but also of citrus and fruit.
