Sinopoli

Sinopoli is an Italian town in the province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 2119 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Sinopoli located 47 km northeast of Reggio Calabria on the northern slopes of the Aspromonte in the valley of the river Vasi. The neighboring municipalities are Cosoleto, Oppido Mamertina, Roccaforte del Greco, Roghudi, San Procopio, Eufemia d' Aspromonte and Scilla. The place consists of the two districts Sinopoli Inferiore and Sinopoli Vecchio.

Attractions

In the district Sinopoli Vecchio is the parish church of the 17th century, rebuilt in a Renaissance -like style. Inside is a statue of the Madonna from 1508. A parish church of Sinopoli Inferiore are marble statues from the 16th and 17th centuries.
