Staiti

Staiti is an Italian town in the province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 262 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Staiti is 75 km east of Reggio Calabria on the southeast slope of the Aspromonte. The neighboring municipalities are Africo, Bova, Brancaleone, Bruzzano Zeffirio, Palizzi. The place consists of the two districts Tridetti and FARCO.

Attractions

In the village there is a church, which dates the origin of the Middle Ages. They were made in the 18th century.

Outside the town are the ruins of the Romanesque -Norman church of Santa Maria di Tridetti, it was built at the origin in the 11th century. The church belonged to a Basilian monastery. The church faces east and is divided into three naves.
