Per Elofsson

Per Elofsson ( born April 2, 1977 in Umeå ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier.

Career

Elofsson won in the 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 season the Cross Country World Cup, he won a total of eleven World Cup races. He became world champion over 15 km and in the pursuit race in 2001 and in 2003 he repeated his victory in the pursuit. At the Olympics 2002 he benefited the Pursuit of the subsequent disqualification of starting for Spain German Johann Mühlegg and won the bronze medal.

Elofsson 2001 was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal -. In 2005 he retired from top-level sports and surprised in the same year as a heavy metal musician: The Grand Illusion album the band Nocturnal Rites Elofsson played guitar on one song.
