Philippe Furrer
Philippe Furrer ( born June 16, 1985 in Bern ) is a Swiss ice hockey player. He currently plays for SC Bern in the National League A on the position of the defender.

Career
Furrer first went through the junior departments of his home club SC Bern before he made his debut in the National League A in the pros in the 2001/ 02 season. In the summer of 2003, he was selected during the NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers in the sixth round to 173 place, but missed the entire 2003/ 04 due to injury. After his return to the following season, he improved his game steadily and peaked in the 2006 / 07, the Swiss vice-championship.
In the season 2009/10 and 2012/13 season he won the Swiss championship with the SC Bern.
Internationally
In the 2007 /08 season Furrer was one of the best offensive defenders in the league, which led for the World Cup 2008 on an appeal to the Swiss national squad. During the World Cup, in which Switzerland reached the seventh place, he scored an own goal in the quarter-finals against eventual champions Russia.
At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the silver medal with this.
