Polesí

Polesí ( German Rimberg ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 km south of Pelhřimov and 25 km north-east of Jindřichův Hradec in the Czech-Moravian Highlands.

Geography

Polesí is located at the headwaters of Počátecký creek on both sides of the stream that feeds a large number of ponds. Neighboring towns are Bela in the north, Turovka in the northeast, Leskovec in the east, in the southeast Heřmaneč, Počátky in the south, and Jakubín CTIBOR in the west and Vesela in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1457. 1856 the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was ordained. Rimberg part of the Judicial District Počátky and the political district Kamnitz in Linde. In 1950 the change of the name Rymberk in Polesí.

Attractions

  • The located in the center large chapel of St. John of Nepomuk from the mid-19th century, is the symbol of Polesí.
