Rathaus (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

Metro Station Fuerth Rathaus (abbreviation: RF) is the 36th Metro Station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn and was opened on 5 December 1998. It is 636 meters from Fürth Stadthalle Metro Station and 889 meters from Fürth Hauptbahnhof underground station away. At the railway station, direction Hardhöhe followed by a sharp -to-travel platform changes. The metro station is named after the town hall of the city of Fürth, under which it lies.

Location

The station is located in Fürth district of downtown and extends below the ground in east -west orientation in a left turn at the Ludwig- Erhard-Straße between the carbon market and the fruit market. From the eastern station head an output leads to a distribution of levels below the carbon market and from there to the Brandenburg and Ludwig -Erhard-Straße and to the carbon market. From the western railway station head an output leads to a distribution of levels among the fruit market and from there to the Mohr Road to the fruit market and the bus station. Two elevators lead from the eastern and western platform head to the surface.

In the vicinity of the station are the Gustavstraße, the Heinrich- Schliemann -Gymnasium, the Jewish Museum Fürth, Fürth Art Gallery, City Hall and the City Theatre.

Building and Architecture

The station building is 126 m long. Construction of the station began in June 1996 and were carried out by mining in New Austrian Tunnelling Method. In the course of the building had two buildings, including the Café Fürst, to be demolished. The station consists of two individual tubes that are connected by three cross passages and the two platform heads.

The architectural design was based on a design by Tanja Bürgelin - Arslan, the winner of which was organized by the Georg- Simon- Ohm - Hochschule Nürnberg design competition, run.
