Renault 25 (1984-1988)

The Renault 25 ( R25 short ) was a passenger car of the French car manufacturer Renault. It was produced from April 1984 to February 1992 in northern France Sandouville at Le Havre.

Model history

The plans for the R25 started already in 1977. Conceived as a successor to the Renault 20 and Renault 30 model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and was launched in spring 1984 on the market. Now the usual distinction between a four- volume model (R20 ) and offered under an independent label six-cylinder top model (R30 ) was abandoned. Both engine types have now been offered under the same model name.

Body

Although the lack of a notchback was already considered in previous models as a deficiency, put the R25 Renault also continue on the hatchback, in the shaping of the body line but a notchback was indicated. Features

Facelift

In June 1988, the R25 was given a facelift. The body shape was rounded at the front end, new rear lights were wider. In February 1992, the production of the Renault 25 was set. According to Renault Germany there 40 458 copies of the R25 were sold. In May 1992, he was replaced by the Renault Safrane.
