Riitta-Liisa Roponen

Riitta -Liisa Roponen, born Lassila ( born May 6, 1978 in Haukipudas ), is a Finnish cross-country skier.

Career

Roponen won the World Championship in 2005 along with Pirjo Manninen silver in the team sprint. In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007 she won a gold medal in freestyle team sprint (together with Virpi Kuitunen ) and with the Finnish team in the season.

On January 15, 2006 Roponen won with the Finnish relay (together with Aino Kaisa Saarinen -, Virpi Kuitunen and Kaisa Varis ) the World Cup races in Val di Fiemme. Her first World Cup victory in the individual could achieve on 20 January 2007 in the Russian Rybinsk. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec she could win gold in the relay.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Roponen reached together with Virpi Kuitunen, Pirjo Muranen and Aino Kaisa Saarinen - in relay competition over 4 x 5 km, the bronze medal.

In the winter of 2013 and 2014 she won the Engadin Ski Marathon.
