Rovná (Pelhřimov District)

Rovná ( German Równa ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 11 km north-west of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Rovná is located on the right side above the valley of Trnavka at the end of a steep side valley. To the east rises the Straz (520 m) and to the south the Čertova skala (609 m).

Neighboring towns are Arneštovice in the north, Křelovice in the northeast, Cervena Řečice in the east, and Zádolí Milotičky the southeast, Mašovice in the south, Bořetice and Brezina in the southwest, and Vítovice Hořepník in the west and Radejov in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Rovná took place in 1352. The place was originally been part of the Archdiocese of Prague associated rule Řečice and then came into the possession of various noble families. Rovná was part of the lordship Loutkov and later Hořepník.

After the abolition of patrimonial Rovná formed in 1850 a community to which the district belonged Vítovice 2 díl. 1961, the city was incorporated into Hořepník and since 1 January 1992, again independently.
