Rudolf Lochner

Rudi Lochner began in 1982 as a brakeman in the four-man by Peter Bright ( German Vice Champion). In 1985, he changed his position and was at the helm along with his brakeman Markus Zimmermann fourth in the German Championships, 1989 runner-up and in 1990, for the first time German champion - both in the two- man and four as well.

1991 in Altenberg won Lochner together with Markus Zimmermann the world title in two-man bob. At the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 they narrowly missed gold in the two- and won the silver medal. When due to the transition exceptionally two years the next Olympic Games in Lillehammer (Norway ), the team had more bad luck, missed again, only just the bronze medal, finishing instead the fourth place.
