Sant'Angelo in Lizzola

Sant'Angelo in Lizzola ( in the local dialect: Sant'Angële ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8815 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region. The community is located approximately 12.5 kilometers south-west of Pesaro and directly borders the province of Rimini. Through the district Montecchio flows Foglia.

History

Around 1000 AD, the forts Monte Sant'Angelo and Lizzola were merged. 1389 was the connection of the district Montecchio. In the 15th century it came under the rule of the Sforza of Pesaro.
