Sommatino

Sommatino is a city in the province of Caltanissetta in the Italian region Sicily, with 7253 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Sommatino located 26 km south-west of Caltanissetta. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and wood processing.

The neighboring municipalities are Caltanissetta, Delia ( Sicily), Mazzarino, Naro (AG), Ravanusa (AG) and Riesi.

History

The community was founded in 1507 by the family of Del Porto.
