Stichtse Vecht

Stichtse Vecht is the name of a new church that is with effect from 1 January 2011 through the merger of the Dutch municipalities Breukelen, Loenen and Maarssen, belonging to the province of Utrecht, emerged. The new municipality has 63,499 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Settlement centers

The settlement priorities of the new community are - from north to south - Nigtevecht, Vreeland, Loenersloot, Loenen aan de Vecht, Nieuwersluis, Nieuwer Ter Aa, Breukelen, Kockengen, Maarssen - Dorp, Maarssenbroek, Tienhoven / (Oud ) Maarsseveen / Bethune and Molenpolder, and Oud- Zuilen.

Result of the local elections in 2010

On 25 November 2010 the first local council elections were held for the new church. From the election, the following distribution of seats emerged:

Acting Mayor

From 1 January 2011, initially Mirjam van ' t Veld, by then Mayor of Maarssen, the incumbent mayor of the new municipality Stichtse Vecht.
