Swatch FIVB World Tour 2009
The FIVB World Tour 2009, the men consisted of 14 tournaments, four of which have been discharged as a grand slam and nine as open. Added to this was the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Stavanger in Norway.
Tournaments
Brasilia Open ( 21 to 26 April )
For the first time since 2004, the tour started back in Brazil, this time in the capital. While the Austrians Hupfer / Schroffenegger failed to qualify to Dollinger / Kaczmarek were able to prevail and occupied with a win in the main draw of the seventeenth rank as well Gosch / Horst from Austria. Huth / Urbatzka remained winless as well as the Swiss M. Lacia / Schnider. Their countrymen Sascha Heyer and Patrick Heuscher won twice and were Thirteenth. Three wins Christoph Dieckmann and Kay Matysik go in the early rounds. After two defeats against Rogers / Dalhausser and Ricardo / Emanuel, the two Germans reached the fifth place in the overall standings. The Americans lost their semi-final against Pedro / Alison and subsequently the match for third place against Fabio Luiz / Márcio Araújo, who were inferior in the other semifinal. In purely Brazilian final, the former world champion Ricardo and Emanuel prevailed.
Shanghai Open (29 April -May 3)
In the qualification itself Erdmann / Windscheif prevailed in contrast to the Austrians dispute Fellner / Traxler. In the first round all the German teams won through to the qualifiers. However, while Dollinger / Kaczmarek and Huth / Urbatzka adopted after two subsequent defeats in the tournament and how the Austrians Hupfer / Schroffenegger Seventeenth were Jonathan Erdmann and Stefan Windscheif won as well as the Swiss initially defeated Gabathuler / Wenger their next three games and were jointly Ninth. Even better, it did Julius Brink and Jonas Recker man who could defeat the Estonians Rivo Vesik and Kristjan Kais after their semi-final defeat against Harley / Alison and thus secured the bronze medal. The gold medal received the conqueror of the Germans after their victory over their fellow Brazilians Pedro and Cunha.
Foro Italico Open in Rome (12 to 17 May),
In the first German Country Quota of the year Erdmann / Windscheif defeated both Böckermann / Lüdike and Dollinger / Kaczmarek and then qualified for the main competition. This was neither the Austrians dispute Fellner / Traxler nor their compatriots Steinöker / Berger. In the first round, all remaining German teams were victorious. BC Dieckmann / Matysik and Gabathuler / Wenger then lost two times and were Seventeenth. The thirteenth place occupied Gosch / Horst, while Heyer / Heuscher finished the tournament in ninth place. Seventh were Erdmann / Windscheif and Klemperer / Koreng. Brink / Recker man could after their semi-final victory over Ricardo / Emanuel also the final against Cunha / Pedro make victorious and won so their first joint gold medal. The small final won Harley and Alison.
Myslowice Open ( May 26 to 31 )
While Weingart / Prawdzic were eliminated in the second and Dollinger / Kaczmarek in the third qualifying round, to Erdmann / Windscheif and M. Laciga / Bellaguarda could qualify for the main competition. The Swiss lost there but just like their compatriots Gabathuler / Wenger and the Austrians Gartmayer / Nausch their first two games, while the third federal team Heyer / Heuscher be adopted together with the Germans in the next round. Thirteenth were the Austrians Gosch / Horst. Klemperer / Koreng reached the fifth place, while Brink / Recker man vorkämpften the semifinals. This they also lost against Harley / Alison as the subsequent play-off for third place against Gibb / Rosenthal. Their Conqueror Fuerbringer / Jennings had to settle for silver, while the Brazilians were able to secure their second joint gold medal.

Preliminary round in Pool System
Unbeaten came Brink / Recker man, Klemperer / Koreng, Dollinger / Urbatzka and the Swiss Heyer / Heuscher in the round of 32 best teams. Also the main round reached the Austrians Gosch / Horst with two hits. They defeated among others Erdmann / Matysik. Who only needed to win the game for not progressing as opposed to Doppler / Mellitzer from the Alpine republic. Sieglos to their countrymen Huber / Gartmayer and the Confederates Gabathuler / Wenger and Schnider / Sutter adopted from the competition.
Main Round
The Swiss Heyer / Heuscher, the Austrians Gosch / Horst and the Germans Brink / Recker man and Klemperer / Koreng could win their first games. However, the second round was a terminus for the teams from the Alps republics, while the Germans were in the semi-finals after two more victories. Klemperer / Koreng subject to the Brazilians Harley / Alison, Brink / Recker man defeated the reigning world champion, defeated in the final, the South American and so won the first gold medal at a world championship beach volleyball a team that is not from America. Third place was secured Rogers / Dalhausser.
Grand Slam in Gstaad July 7 to 12
In German Trials Uhmann / Windscheif defeated both Dollinger / Kaczmarek and Huth / Urbatzka, but failed, as did the Austrians Huber / Gart Mayer and Hupfer / Schroffeneger in qualifying. Doppler / Mellitzer and Gabathuler / Schnider eliminated from winless after the pool round. Erdmann / Matysik lost in the first round, while Klemperer / Koreng, Gosch / Horst and M. Laciga / Bellaguarda also reached the second round as the direct eligible Brink / Recker man and Heyer / Heuscher. The defeated Klemperer / Koreng, who finished ninth in common with the remaining Austrians. Both the Swiss team did not survive the quarter-finals, while Brink / Recker man secured by victories over Nummerdor / Schuil in the semifinals and Ricardo / Emanuel in the final the next gold medal after the World Cup. The small final won by the Spaniard Herrera / Gavira.
Grand Slam in Moscow ( July 14 to 19 )
Hupfer / Schroff Egger, Doppler / Mellitzer and Dollinger / Kaczmarek failed in qualifying, while M. Laciga / Bellaguarda penetrated after successful preliminary round to the semi-finals of the main competition. This was just two German duo. While Uhmann / Windscheif and Gabathuler / Schnider lost three times in the pool round, Gosch / Horst eliminated in the first and Heyer / Heuscher out in the second main round. In the semifinals defeated Ricardo / Emanuel Klemperer / Koreng, while the German world champion Swiss scientists turned off and took after the final against the Brazilians their third gold medal in series in reception. The German -Swiss battle for the bronze medal, the Confederates decided for themselves.
World Series 13 Marseille ( 21 to 26 July )
After their victory over Erdmann / Matysik in the Country Quota Böckermann / Urbatzka received a bye in qualifying, and then excrete in the first round as the Austrian qualifier Hupfer / Schroffenegger and their compatriots Huber / Seidl. A round progressed Uhmann / Windscheif, while the Swiss M. Laciga / Bellaguarda and Heyer / Heuscher reached the knockout stages. In round four came from for Klemperer / Koreng. Julius Brink and Jonas Recker man then lost their semi-final against Rogers / Dalhausser, while the Dutch Nummerdor / Schuil failed to Herrera / Gavira. Grand Slam in Klagenfurt ( July 28-August 2 )
In the German Country Quota Dollinger / Kaczmarek defeated first Erdmann / Matysik and then Huth / Urbatzka. In qualifying for the Germans also came from the Austrian as for three couples. It is better made the Swiss Gabathuler / Schnider, but did not survive the pool round despite a victory. The Austrians Hupfer / Schroffenegger and Doppler / Mellitzer finished the group stage without a win. The victory gave M. In the quarterfinals the last remaining Swiss Heyer / Heuscher lost to the Russians Kolodinsky / Barsouk, which in turn was defeated in the semi-final against Rogers / Dalhausser and in the match for third place against Nummerdor / Schuil. The finale won the Americans against the Brazilians Harley / Alison.
Mazuri Open in Stare Jabłonki ( August 4 to 9 )
Stefan Windscheif and Marcus Popp prevailed against Dollinger / Kaczmarek and Huth / Urbatzka and then reached as well as the Austrians Hupfer / Schroffenegger by two wins in qualifying the main draw. This was neither the Swiss Gabathuler / Schnider nor their countrymen Weingart / Prawdzic. Erdmann / Matysik lost their first two games in the main competition, while Windscheif / Popp reached one more win. Klemperer / Koreng occupied the thirteenth place in the final standings. M. Laciga / Bellaguarda as the best Swiss team and the Austrians Hupfer / Schroffenegger were jointly Ninth. Gosch / Horst occupied the seventh place, while Brink / Recker man lost after their semi-final victory over Harley / Alison in the final against their Brazilian compatriots Benjamin / Pedro, previously Herrera / Gaviera had defeated. The Spaniard won the game for third place.
Otera Open in Kristiansand ( August 11 to 16 2010)
The Swiss Suttler / Gscheidle and Weingart / Prawdzic failed in qualifying that survived their compatriots Gabathuler / Schnider, Doppler / Mellitzer and Hupfer / Schroff Egger from Austria and the two German duo Dollinger / Kaczmarek and Huth / Urbatzka. The latter were without a win in the main draw 25 as well as Hupfer / Schroffenegger. A game winning handed Gosch / Horst for 17th place. Doppler / Mellitzer, Dollinger / Kaczmarek and Erdmann / Matysik dropped out in the following round and were together Thirteenth. Heyer / Heuscher, who after defeating Erdmann / Matysik also defeated their compatriots Gabathuler / Schnider, the tournament ended on the seventh rank. The finale reached Barsouk and Kolodinsky by defeating Ces / CES and Aleksandrs Samoilovs / Ruslan Sorokin, who defeated Harley / Alison in the semifinal. The finale won the Russians, the third place secured the South Americans.
Åland Open ( August 18 to 23 )
Although Dollinger / Kaczmarek defeated first Huth / Urbatzka in German Trials, but just missed qualifying for the main draw as the Swiss Sutter / Gscheidle and Gabathuler / Schnider and the Austrians Doppler / Mellitzer. Gosch / Horst, who started as the only team from the Alpine republic in the main competition, subject to the third round of the Loser single federal team M. Laciga / Bellaguarda, who finished seventh after yet another victory. Not so far came Erdmann / Matysik, after a win and two losses was the tournament for them ended. The other two German teams met in the third main round each other with the poorer end of the reigning world champion. However, Brink / Recker man fought despite this defeat semi-finals and defeated there, Ricardo and Pedro. Also Klemperer / Koreng reached the semifinal, but failed to Nummerdor / Schuil, which subsequently also won the final. In the bronze medal match, the Germans were victorious over the Brazilian.
The Hague Open ( August 25 to 30 )
German teams were not at the start. Both Gabathuler / Schnider and Weingart / Prawdzic from Switzerland and Nausch / Moser from Austria failed to qualify. The two remaining Swiss team won their first and lost their next game. While Heyer / Heuscher the following meeting could not make victorious, M. Laciga / Bellaguarda reached with two more wins seventh. Another round progressed the best Austrians. Gosch / Horst were in the final standings Fifth, while the other two teams from the Alpine republic, Doppler / Mellitzer and Hupfer / Schroff Egger, remained winless. The final winning as in Finland Nummerdor / Schuil. They defeated Herrera / Gavira who had off in the semifinals Harley / Alison. The Brazilians secured the bronze medal by defeating the Estonians Vesik / quays, which were previously defeated by the Dutch.
Sanya Open ( 26 to 31 October )
Gabathuler / Schnider and Urbatzka / Kaczmarek were able to prevail in the first round after surviving the qualification. The Swiss occupied by another win and two defeats the thirteenth rank. The Germans came in the top ten and were ninth. Performed even better Dollinger / Windscheif from, won the seventh. Unsuccessful were the only Austrian Hupfer / Schroffenegger. For the third time in a row Nummerdor / Schuil won the final, this time against Wu / Xu. The Chinese had beaten in their semi-final Prokopjew / Bogatov, the Dutch defeated in the other semifinal Herrera / Gavira who then were able to secure the bronze medal itself.
