Geography

The municipality is situated on the Danube, about seven kilometers southwest of Donauwörth. Up to Rettingen all districts located north of the Danube, in Rettingen municipal district extends down to the lowest co.

History

Tapfheim was mentioned in a document 750-800 for the first time on the occasion of goods donations to the monastery of Fulda. The town was the seat of the lower nobility, the lords of Tapfheim is attested from 1067 to 1401.
