Thomas Raymond Flores ( born March 21, 1937 in Sanger, California, USA) is an American former American football player, coach and official. He was active in the National Football League ( NFL).

Playing career

Tom Flores playing career as a quarterback began hesitantly. After he was not sent to the NFL Draft, he tried in 1958 in the Canadian Football League ( CFL) with the Calgary Stampeders in 1959 and in the NFL with the Washington Redskins. For both teams, he was released before the season. In 1960, he was welcomed at the Oakland Raiders, who were settled in the newly formed American Football League ( AFL). For the Raiders, he has already been used in his first game as a starter year. 1967 moved to the Buffalo Bills and 1969 in the course of the season to the Hank Stram trained Kansas City Chiefs. Flores was a substitute behind the trunk of the Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson. With the Chiefs Flores won the Super Bowl III against the Minnesota Vikings with 23:7. Coaching career
