Unterfladnitz is a municipality with 1537 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Weiz in the Austrian province of Styria.

Geography

Unterfladnitz located in eastern Styria. The village is about 5 km from Weiz, the district capital, away. The Weizbach and Fladnitzbach flow through the site.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Arndorf, Dietmannsdorf, Kühwiesen, Neudorf near St. Ruprecht, Unterfladnitz and Wollsdorf.

History

Founder and namesake of Arndorf was the Bavarian Palatinate Count Aribo II († 1026; 1171 comes the settlement before Arber village, also: Heritage village). Unterfladnitz was first mentioned in documents as Fletnytz in 1265. The Unterfladnitz castle built in the middle of the 14th century by the Fladnitzern and destroyed on July 26, 1724 by a storm. The 1850 incurred communities Unterfladnitz, Arndorf and Neudorf were united in 1951 to the municipality Unterfladnitz. In 1968, the municipalities Kühwiesen and Unterfladnitz were pooled for community Unterfladnitz. The former municipality Kühwiesen arose from the union of 1850 also created communities Wollsdorf and Kühwiesen in 1951.

Economy and infrastructure

Kindergarten, primary school and secondary school located in Sankt Ruprecht. The community is dominated by agriculture. Orchards and field vegetables play a major role.

Traffic

Unterfladnitz is verkehrlich one hand on the Rechbergstraße ( B 64 ) and on the other hand, opened up with a station of the State Railway Track Village Weiz. The Provincial Railways Railway Village Weiz offer hourly train in the direction of Weiz and track village as well as some direct trains to Graz. Furthermore, located in Unterfladnitz a small airfield of ASKOE Flying club Weiz.
