Útěchovice pod Stražištěm

Útěchovice pod Stražištěm until 1960 Útěchovice ( German United Autiechowitz, formerly Gutenbrunn ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north-west of Pacov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Útěchovice pod Stražištěm is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian highlands at the eastern foot of the Strážiště ( Strazischt, 744 m). To the north rise the Holý vrch ( front Strazischt, 703 m) and the Kamenný vrch (626 m), in the south of Duškův is vrch (590 m ). Northeast stems from the Bach Smrčinský creek.

Neighboring towns are Kateřinky, Nový Smrdov and Nové Vyklantice in the north, Buřenice in the northeast, Babice and Dobroměřice in the east, Smrčina, Lesná and U Rozštěpu the southeast, Velka Chyska, Černý Rybnik and Cetule in the south, Bratřice and Salacova Lhota in the southwest, Mezilesí and Zelena Ves in the west and Týmova Ves and Lukavec in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1410 in the land register of the Strahov Monastery under the name Good Brunn. After the Hussite wars various noble families were owners of the village, this time, the place name Outěchovice prevailed. In the Thirty Years' War Outěchovice belonged to the confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain possession and the Strahov Monastery took the opportunity to regain his old goods.

After the abolition of patrimonial Outěchovice / Great Autiechowitz formed a parish in the district team Pelhřimov. In 1923, the church name was changed in Útěchovice. Between 1948 and 1960 Útěchovice was assigned to the Okres Pacov. With the beginning of 1961 the village was incorporated into Velka Chyska and returned to Okres Pelhřimov. At the same time the place to distinguish it from lying in the same district village Útěchovice received the official name suffix pod Stražištěm. Since 1990 Útěchovice pod Stražištěm again forms a separate municipality.
