Vahlbruch is on the Ottensteiner Plateau in the forested mountains.

Neighboring communities

Vahlbruch is the westernmost municipality of the district of Minden wood. In the West, the municipal boundary is also the country's border with North Rhine -Westphalia, and although the city Luegde ( district of Lippe ). Clockwise close to the town of Bad Pyrmont ( district of Hamelin -Pyrmont ) and Ottenstein, Brevörde and Polle (all Samtgemeinde ground Werder Polle, County Holzminden ).

History

The village Meiborssen was mentioned in 1508 as Meibodessen or Maybarssen documented.

From April 1922 Vahlbruch belonged to the district of Hamelin -Pyrmont. In the course of municipal reform by law on the restructuring of municipalities in the wood Minden Vahlbruch came on 1 January 1973 the district of Minden wood and in January 1973, founded Samtgemeinde Polle.
