Varese Ligure

Varese Ligure ( Ligurian in: Vaeise ) is a municipality with 2091 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically Varese Ligure belongs to the province of La Spezia.

Geography

Varese Ligure is the northernmost municipality in the province of La Spezia and borders with its territory both to the province of Genoa, as well as to the province of Parma (Emilia -Romagna).

The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana dell'Alta Val di Vara.

In 2006, Varese Ligure was awarded the Orange Flag of the Touring Club Italiano, which distinguishes the church as particularly worth seeing and ecological village. Varese Ligure is also one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
