Vatican Radio
Vatican Radio (in Italian: Radio Vaticana, RV) is an international radio station of the Holy See and has the task to carry on the activities of the Vatican, the Roman Catholic Church and in general to report on other churches and the Catholic doctrine.
History
After completion of the Lateran Treaty was begun preparations to establish their own church radio program. Vatican Radio was founded in 1931 under Pope Pius XI. The management of the station was transferred to the Jesuit order. The prime center was established at the Vatican Hill. Was on February 12, 1931 at 16:30 clock with that of Pope Pius XI. spoken message " Qui arcano Dei consiglio " the first program is broadcast; and 1939 more shipments were in a test stage. Program

Vatican Radio consists of approximately 40 language sections and sends in 47 languages , including German. The language departments have about 20 minutes of screen time per day, the shipments are then partially broadcast several times a day.
Currently Vatican Radio broadcasts in the following languages : Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Danish, German, English, Esperanto, Estonian, Finnish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Swahili, Croatian, Latin, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Somalo, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Tigri, Czech, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Belarusian.
Occasionally, packages will be sent in the following language: Ewondo, Kinyarwanda, Lingala, Tshiluba, Kikongo, Kirundi, Malgasch.

English speaking service
The German -language service broadcast on several shortwave frequencies in the evening at 20:20 clock a magazine that was repeated the next day at 00:10 and 06:20 clock. Structure
Vatican Radio is headed by a Director-General who is bound by instructions to the State Secretariat. Subordinate to the Director General are the program, the technical and the administrative director. Since Vatican Radio was subordinated to the Jesuit Order at its inception, the main directorships with clergy of this order occupied ( with the exception of the Executive Director ). Meanwhile, the Basilianerorden contributes mainly responsible for the programming of Radio Vatican.
The Director General is appointed by the Pope, the program and the technical director of the Cardinal Secretary of State (in each case, on a proposal of the Jesuit order ).
Financing
The Vatican Radio broadcasts are free of charge to receive and without commercial breaks. The annual expenditure of currently about 20 million euros will be denied on the budget of the Holy See.
Others
Vatican Radio uses for the dissemination of its programs and the medium wave frequency 1611 kHz and at times used while the new digital standard DRM, which causes a significant improvement in sound quality compared to the usual in this broadcast band amplitude modulation (AM).
