Voorst

Voorst ( listen? / I ) is a Dutch municipality of the province of Gelderland and had on 1 January 2013, according to the CBS 23 719 inhabitants. Their total area is 126.5 km ². The municipality consists of the village Twello in which more than 12,000 people live and the local council has its headquarters, the smaller villages Voorst, Terwolde, Wilp, Nijbroek and Teuge and a few villages.

Location and economic

Twello Located two miles from the A1 Amsterdam - Apeldoorn - Osnabrück and at the railway between Apeldoorn and Deventer. At this line was on 10 December 2006, a small railway station, where 16-18 and 7:30 to 9:30 clock in the hour holds in the " peak hours " twice and otherwise once a train opened. Here live many commuters who are working in Apeldoorn or Deventer. The up to 2001 very formative meat industry is now no longer a resident. In Teuge, just west of Twello, there is a small airfield.

The village of Voorst is between Apeldoorn and Zutphen. Just south of Voorst, near Empe (some community hum ) are also available since 10 December 2006, a railway station on the line Apeldoorn - Zutphen.

In Wilp exists a psychiatric hospital.

Attractions

From the airport you can learn from Teuge skydiving. In Wilp a recreation area, with a small lake ( Bussloo ). All of these villages, except Teuge, have at least 500 years old village church. Those of Wilp ( the ancient place name is of hwil - apa, source and water come ) is even said to have been built as early as 768 or 769 by the British missionary Lebuin; from there he began his missionary work in Deventer; Wilper the church was burnt down in the Middle Ages and rebuilt several times.

In the town there are many small, mostly inhabited country seats. The associated parks are mostly free for walkers available.
