Vyskytná

Vyskytná ( German Bohemian Gießhübel ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 16 km west of Jihlava and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Vyskytná is located northeast of the 765 m high Křemešník the creek Vyskytná in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. East of the village flows the Jankovský creek, the entire upper reaches is protected as a national natural monument due to the presence of the freshwater pearl mussel.

Neighboring towns are Polánky in the north, Dudín in the northeast, Opatov in the east, in the southeast Yankov, Chaloupky, Močáry and Nový Rychnov in the south, Sázava the southwest, Branišov, Střítež pod Křemešníkem and Sedliště in the west and Částonín in the northwest.

History

It is based on archaeological finds certain that the place in the colonization of the area was founded by Pelhřimov the end of the 12th century. 1233 was the river Vyskytná ( Jankovský Potok ), which in the Kletečná ( Želivka ) opens, referred to as the boundary between the lands of the monastery Želiv and the episcopal rule Cervena Řečice. Vyskytná or Gießhübel belonged to the diocese of Prague and to distinguish them from far lying Gishowel called Episcopal Gießhübel or Bohemian Gießhübel. 1379 the place in the royal tax lists was called oppidum and 1390-1395 as civitas. Until 1417 Bohemian Gießhübel belonged to the rule Cervena Řečice, after it acquired Jan von Choděnice. From 1454 the town belonged to Pelhřimov. From its destruction during the Hussite Wars, the city never recovered. In 1545 it was referred to only as a village. In the Thirty Years' War, the village was deserted, and in the Berni rula only 8 farmsteads and 4 cottagers were recorded; 30 farms were desolate. 1682 was a stronghold whose corridors were distributed to the farmers during the Josephine reforms. 1722 opened the first school.
