Waldeck (electoral district)
The constituency Waldeck ( Constituency 167 ) is a federal electoral district in Hesse. The constituency includes the towns and communities of Bad Emstal, Bad Karlshafen, Baunatal, Breuna, Calden, Grebestein, Hawk Forest, Hofgeismar, Immenhausen, Liebenau, Naumburg, Upper Weser, Reinhard Hagen, Schauenburg, Trendelburg, Wahlburg, Wolf Hagen, Grace Hill and Gutsbezirk Reinhardswald from the Kassel district and the towns and communities of Bad Arolsen, Bad Wildungen, Diemelsee, Diemelstadt, Eder, Korbach, Lichtenfels, Twistetal, Volkmarsen, Waldeck and Willingen ( Upland) from the district Waldeck- Frankenberg.
The constituency was thought to be SPD stronghold and has always won from 1957 to 2009 by the direct candidate of the SPD. In the general election of 2013, the CDU won its candidate Thomas Viesehon first time the constituency.

By the death of the members of the Bundestag Karl Rüdiger on 20 February 1951 by-election in the former Bundestag constituency I ( counties Hofgeismar, Wolf Hagen and Waldeck ) was necessary on the basis of § 15 of the Electoral Act 1 Bundestag and the first Federal Assembly of the Federal Republic of Germany. This then was ordered by the Hessian state Returning Officer held on 15 April 1951.
