Yvonne van Vlerken

Yvonne van Vlerken ( born November 5, 1978 in Krimpen aan de Lek ) is a starting for Austria Dutch duathlete, triathlete and multiple Ironman champion (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013). She held the world record with 8:45:48 hours time ( Challenge Roth, 2008) over the Ironman distance, until it was again undercutting on July 12, 2009 by Chrissie Wellington in Roth.

Career

In her youth, Yvonne van Vlerken was active in South Holland football team, they began Duathlon and eventually triathlons later. She is seven times Dutch champion in duathlon and triathlon.

In 2005, she Vice - European Champion and 2006 European Champion on the Duathlon Long Distance.

On 13 July 2008 the Challenge Roth near Nuremberg could triathlon with 8:45:48 hours undercut the previous world best of Paula Newby - Fraser and 11 October 2008 in her first start in Hawaii she reached behind the previous year's winner Chrissie Wellington second place and became Vice World Champion on the long distance triathlon (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). In 2008 she was elected to her home country for the third time " Triathlete of the Year". In 2010 she was elected to Rotterdam next to the footballer Giovanni van Bronckhorst Athlete of the Year.

In November 2012, she won at her first start for Austria with a new personal best Ironman her third gold medal in Florida - as a second wife to Kate Allen (2003, 2005).

Yvonne van Vlerken now lives in Schwarzach in Vorarlberg and trained in the Tri Team Lustenau. Is supported Austrian election since 2007 by her personal trainer Frank Senders as well as the six-time Hawaii champion Mark Allen, who acts as her personal advisor. Their nicknames are "Dutch Dynamo" or " Vonsy ". Yvonne van Vlerken is in a relationship with the triathletes by Bittner.
