Geography

Lauterach located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Bregenz south of Lake Constance to 412 meters. 0.3 % of the area is forested. There are no other local villages in Lauterach.

Neighboring communities

The market town of Lauterach borders six other municipalities in Vorarlberg. Of these, four are located in the district of Bregenz, and two in the adjoining district Dornbirn. Clockwise ( starting in the north ), these are the district and state capital Bregenz, the Wolfurt, the district capital of Dornbirn, the market town Lustenau and the community Fußach and the market town of Hard.

History

In the southwest of Lauterach is the Natura 2000 conservation area Lauter Ried, which is an important recreational area for the people of the region with an area of ​​about 800 hectares. Media

In Lauterach ORF operates a transmission facility for VHF. The antenna substrate is a 116 meter high guyed and uses insulated against ground steel truss mast. The transmission tower is insulated from earth, as until 1 January 1995 from this transmitter, the radio program of the Vorarlberg ORF was spread on medium wave frequency 1026 kHz.
