Zachotín

Zachotín ( German Šachotín ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-east of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Zachotín located creek on a hill between the valleys of the Kladinský and Jankovský creek in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. North of the village rises the Čihadlo (613 m) and in the northwest of Cerny vrch (614 m). In the southwest lie the Horni and Dolni Kladiny two larger Stauweiher of 28 and 32 hectares. Near the village there are several mills and wilderness farms.

Neighboring towns are Mladé Bříště and Stare Bříště in the north, Mysletín in the northeast, Buková and Dudín in the east, Petrkov and Částonín the southeast, Sedliště and Kladiny in the south, Střítež pod Křemešníkem and Kocourovy Lhotky the southwest, Žirov in the west and Velky Rybnik in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1379th Zachotín belonged at that time to episcopal rule Řečice. After the division of the city came to power Pelhřimov and the Říčanský Říčany. 1571 bought Sebastian Leskovský of Leskovec the village of Karel Říčanský.

After the replacement of patrimonial Zachotín in 1850 an independent village, which included the district Petrkov. In 1869 there were the villages Hojkovy and Žirov added. 1902 Žirov became independent again in 1954 and was followed by the Vice My Dung of Hojkovy after Mladé Bříště. In 1976, the incorporation of Častonín and Mysletín was. On 1 July 1980, the municipality Zachotín was incorporated with all its districts in the city Pelhřimov. Since November 24, 1990 Zachotín is independent again.

The 1997 discovered Asteroid 12468 is named after Zachotín.
