2006 CECAFA Cup

The 30th edition of the CECAFA Cup, officially in 2006 Amoudi Senior Challenge Cup, was held from November 25 to December 10, 2006 in Ethiopia instead. Eleven Central and Eastern African teams played for the title of Eastern and Central Africa champion. Zambia won his third title. Kenya was suspended by FIFA. The COSAFA countries Malawi and Zambia were invited. Since Zambia took part as a guest team, the Sudan won the title.

Game Mode

The eleven participating countries played in three groups of four or three teams. The group winners, second -, and the two best third qualified for the quarter-finals. The two semi-final winners play in the final for the title. The semifinal losers played for 3rd place
