2010 CECAFA Cup

The 34th edition of the CECAFA Cup, officially 2010 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, was dated 27 November 2010 to 12 December 2010 in Tanzania (Mainland) discharged. Nine member associations of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Association as well as three invited teams played for the title of Eastern and Central Africa champion.

The tournament was first sponsored by Tusker.

Game Mode

The 12 participating countries are playing in three groups of four teams. The group winners and runners as well as the two best third will qualify for the quarter-finals. The winners play in the semifinals to reach the finals. The losers of the semifinals play for 3rd place

All matches were played in the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on the Tanzanian mainland.

In the quarter and semi-finals, the third-place match and the final knockout system is played at. Is it at the games of the final round after the regular time of 90 minutes in a draw, it comes to the extension of two periods of 15 minutes and if after the end of the extension still firmly there is no winner, the penalty shoot-out.
