Aiguines
Aiguines ( Occitan: Eiguino, Provençal Aiguina ) is a facility located in the north of the Var area of Provence -Alpes- Côte d' Azur region commune with 265 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ), whose center is the village of the same name. Its inhabitants are called Aiguinois or Aiguinoises.
Geography
Aiguines lies in the Préalpes de Castellane, a part of the Provencal Alps, about 40 km east of Manosque and as far north-west of Draguignan. To the west and northwest of the community is the Lac de Sainte- Croix, while there is the Gorges du Verdon in the Northeast. The southeastern part of the parish belongs to the high- level plan de Canjuers and is largely - more than half the area of the community - part of the training area Camp militaire de Canjuers. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Verdon.
