Saint-Zacharie
Saint -Zacharie is a commune in the Var department in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.
Geography
Saint -Zacharie lies at the foot of the Massif de la Sainte -Baume. The site was born from the union of the three villages Orgnon, located towards the Massif de la Sainte -Baume on the hill, Canorgue, on the slopes of Saint- Clair, and Rastoin, from which today's town center. It lies on the banks of the river Huveaune, open out several tributaries here in the.
Population
Saint -Zacharie has 4972 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) and is one of the larger towns in the Var. 1962 were counted 1358 inhabitants, in the 1960s and 70s, the population grew only slowly. 1975 Saint -Zacharie had 1532 inhabitants. After significant growth was recorded, which continues today.
History
The settlement history of the villages date back to ancient times. Archaeological findings confirm the settlement in Celtic- Ligurian and Roman times.
Attractions
Today Saint -Zacharie is known not least for its spread across the entire local area and the many public fountains, shady and rural small parks. The park Moulin Blanc 1850 was established by the landscape architects Drée for the Saporta family.

- Reda Caire (1905-1963), a popular singer in the 1930s of Egyptian origin, was buried here.
