AMD 900 chipset series

The AMD 900 chipset series is a family of AMD processors for the FX- series (codenamed "Bulldozer "). Downward compatibility is also old processors the K10 generation can be used in new motherboards with socket AM3 . The 900 series chipset is the successor of the AMD 800 series and was officially launched on 1 June 2011. Among the known changes from the 800 series include support for SLI and a faster HyperTransport interface by an update to HT 3.1.

Furthermore, the IOMMU has now been integrated in all models of the 900 series. Among the models of the 800 series only the 890FX Northbridge contained an IOMMU.
