Arén

Arén (Catalan Areny de Noguera ) is a Catalan-speaking, the Franja de Aragón associated municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain. It is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the comarca Ribagorza on the N-230 road west of the river Noguera Ribagorzana.

History

By the end of the 18th century was in Arén a garrison, which was then transferred to Benasque. The former municipality Cornudella de Baliera has been incorporated in 1965, the former municipality Betesa in 1966.
