Avenches District

The District d' Avenches ( ger district Avenches ) until 31 December 2007, an administrative unit of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Capital was Avenches. The District was divided into the Cercle (German circles) Avenches and Cudrefin.

The District consisted of twelve municipalities, was 59.91 km ² and counted 6'764 inhabitants ( end of 2006). On 1 July 2006, the municipalities Donatyre and Avenches were merged to Avenches.
