Blake Griffin
Blake Austin Griffin ( born March 16, 1989 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma ) is an American professional basketball player. He was elected at the 1st digit of the Los Angeles Clippers in NBA Draft 2009. Before that he played in the NCAA for the Oklahoma Sooners. He was elected to several sport magazines Player of the Year of the College 2008/09 season.
High School
Griffin attended Oklahoma Christian High School, where his father was his coach at the same time. He led the school to four state championships. In the season 2004/ 05 he was appointed to the "Little All-City All-State " team. He scored 13.6 points on average. His brother Taylor was chosen by the magazine The Oklahoman Player of the Year.
As a junior in the season 2005/ 06 The Oklahoman Blake Griffin then crowned Player of the Year. He completed 26 games and contributed an average of 21.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists at. He also had 45 steals and 49 blocks. He was appointed to the Tulsa World All-State First Team male.
During his senior season in 2006/ 07 Griffin reached 26.8 points, 15.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He was re-elected by The Oklahoman and this time also from the Tulsa World Player of the Year. Furthermore, he was chosen by Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma, called to the McDonald 's All American Team in 2007 and elected team in the Jordan All-American. The All - American Game 2007 Blake Griffin won the Slam Dunk Contest.
University of Oklahoma (2007-2009)
During the 2007/ 08 season he led the team from the University of Oklahoma as a freshman to a record of 23 wins with 12 losses. He scoring 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He was elected team in the Big 12 Conference First Team and the All Rookie First.
Griffin finished the season with 30 double- doubles, which meant a new record for the Big 12 Conference. He missed the NCAA record set by David Robinson just barely. This reached in the 1986/87 season 31 double- doubles. With 504 rebounds, he also set a record for most rebounds in a season for the Big 12 Conference. He won the Naismith Award and was player of the year.

Los Angeles Clippers (since 2009)
Since Griffin in the preseason before the season 2009/10 broke the kneecap, he had to sit the entire season. For these achievements, Griffin was awarded at the end of the season with the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He is only the third player in NBA history who received 118 first preference votes in this election 118.
