Together with the municipalities of Camogli, Recco, Pieve Ligure and Sori forms Bogliasco the coastline of the Golfo Paradiso. The municipality is divided into the districts of Poggio Favaro, San Bernardo and Sessarego.

The coastal section Bogliasco has a change of small beaches and high cliffs; water quality is considered good and there is the possibility to surf. The hinterland is typical of the Levant: The barren slopes of the Ligurian Apennines, leaving little room for the characteristic small olive groves, however, provide a good basis for a hiking trip with stunning views.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity Bogliasco Zone 4 has been assigned. This means that in the region virtually no earthquakes occur.
