Bördekreis

The Bördekreis was a district in the west of Saxony- Anhalt. On 1 July 2007 it was merged with the beading Ohrekreis the new district as part of the district reform in Saxony- Anhalt.

Neighboring districts were in the north of Ohrekreis, in the north- east, the district-free city Magdeburg, in the east of County Beautiful Beck, in the south, the counties Aschersleben - Staßfurt, Quedlinburg and Halberstadt and west of the Lower Saxony district of Helmstedt.

Geography

The area of ​​the flare loop extended from the central part of the Magdeburg region in the east of the ausholende in a wide arc to the north Bode to the upper Aller and the foothills of the Lappwald - ridge to the northwest.

History

The county was created in 1994 by merging the counties Oschersleben and Wanzleben. On 1 July 2007 the new district flare originated from the previous circles Ohrekreis and Bördekreis. First District Administrator of the flare was Thomas Webel ( CDU).

The Magdeburg coined the name of the district Bördekreis. For their fertility, the priority of agriculture and resulting industry are the golden spike and the golden scythe blade. The blue diagonally right shaft bar symbolizes the lowland area of the Great Rift, Bode and floodplains.
